#OBSESSING #DJANGODJANGO

Okay so I posted Django Django (their song “Hail Bop” which is awesome) on here before, but I am totally freaking out because I finally listened to their entire new self-titled album, and I am OBSESSING. In the past few weeks, it has easily become my new favorite album of the year. Check out “Default,” “Firewater,” “Storm,” and “Waveforms.” I seriously can’t get enough of them. In case you don’t yet have Spotify (which you all should), I’m posting a few YouTube links below. These Brits are totally rocking it.

Django Django – Django Django (Spotify Link)

ENJOY. Of course these are only a few of their tracks, but if you love what you hear, check out the entire album (also available on YouTube). I’m really hoping that these guys make it big because I really think I’m not the only one who would enjoy it (My whole family is also obsessing, and I know some peers on UCLA Radio are also Django Django worshipers).

ALSO, keep and eye out for UCLA’s Top Ten Albums of the Year, which we are working on compiling right now! I know this will be my number one.

Maybe we weren’t meant for these times

Casket Girls – Walking on a Wire (Spotify Link)

When I can find a Youtube link I’ll put it up, but it’s too indie right now, so I could only find a Spotify link. I find this song just brilliantly fantastic, and easy to just kind of fade away to. Actually, this was pointed out to me on All Songs Considered, this kind of sounds like “Good Vibrations” by the Beach Boys. Can you hear it? I actually heard this song off that podcast so if you just hit subscribe on iTunes (it’s free!) you can get ahead of me on the new musics!

Happy hunting!

Just don’t think so much

Local Natives – Breakers

So Local Natives hasn’t been like a huge band for me, but I think this new track is just absolutely fantastic. And extremely catchy. So I hope you all tune in because I find this so beautiful.

Oh yeah, and Happy Thanksgiving (to all my American followers)! Hope you had a fantastic food coma. May be a little late in wishing you this, but at least I didn’t forget about you guys. <3<3<3

How is it that you are so surprised?

IO Echo – When the Lillies Die

Oh god. So ready for this 4 day weekend. Gotta write another damned paper though. So done with papers.

Anyway, have been a fan of IO Echo since 2008, and this new album is proving to be extremely promising. This track is fantastic, so give it a try and just let the music take you, I guess. It sounds like spring/early summer, and I know it’s winter, but feck it.

You give me the sweets, ya know?

Ty Segall – Thank God for the Sinners

“I think this is the best song playing in the room right now.”

Because quite honestly this song I find absolutely fantastic. I guess I’ll have to go back and listen to his other stuff now.

Days are looking up for this gal, just keeping my eyes on the future, and I’m a fecking woman on a mission. Gotta get to where I gotta be, and I’m in the sort of mood where nothing is getting in my way.

I also wrote this post after 3 crossword puzzles and some rum. And too many podcasts.

There’s no time to be reserved or safe

Band of Horses – Knock Knock

If you remember these guys (with their fantastic song “Funeral”), you will definitely find this song fantastic. I find it terribly catchy and the clapping is just saying “How can you not like me!?”

I’m trying to personify this song and it’s not really working. So I’m just gonna let you guys enjoy this track.

He ain’t the soul you wanna test

Tilly and the WallTilly and the Wall – All Kinds of Guns

New music from Tilly and the Wall! This one is fantastic. I remember them being one of the first indie bands that I was listening to in high school when I actually started caring about listening to good music and researching outside of what I heard on the radio. These guys are from Omaha, Nebraska, and interesting fact: they have a tap dancer instead of a drummer. HOW AWESOME ARE THEY!? Enjoy this track off their new album “Heavy Mood” and make sure to subscribe to get new music emailed directly to you!

I can feel my patience running thin

Two GallantsTwo Gallants – My Love Won’t Wait

I can relate to this song on all levels, or have been able to for the past week or so. Missed these guys at FYF (simply because I didn’t know who they were at the time, but of course my friends were pestering me to go… I guess I’ll have to plan on seeing them later in life).

Anyway, enjoy this track from this duo from San Francisco, California.

I’ve kissed you a thousand times in my mind

Sin Fang – Shine for Me

Meet Sindri Már Sigfússon, from Iceland. He officially started his music career 3 years ago,  but this album, Half Dreams, seems to be pretty promising. And this song it is just too catchy to pass up.

Subscribe to the KEXP Song of the Day to get the same updates that I do (great source of new music, and very consistent in posting fantastic songs). Enjoy this track! It’s one of my favorites this year.

I’ve been waiting here so long and you’ve taken off again

Django Django – Hail Bop

Ok it’s been a while but I come bearing awesome tracks. Including this song from London band Django Django (not named after Djando Reinhardt). I’m having a new music phase right now so I’ve got songs lined up for the next week or so, so stay tuned! and SUBSCRIBE!
